How many of you know that White is the color that encompasses all colors? If you know that, then it would make sense that black is the absence of light and the absence of color. It’s energy is said to absorb anything within it’s reach which is part of what makes this color so powerful for assisting with energy when you understand how to use it.
You can use the color black to help you absorb energy that isn’t in your best interest. This is part of why you will find that many stones that are black are amazing to help with grounding and absorbing energy that isn’t helping you. I always recommend stones like Onyx and Obsidian to help people who wish to feel more grounded and protected on their path. Black is also absolutely amazing for protective energy. For those of you who work with shielding techniques try visualizing a black cloak for yourself when you need added protection.
I mentioned before that black draws energy. When you are working with spells black can help draw the energy that you wish to you. It can also be used to banish negativity.
As with any color, you will find that colors can have different meanings to different people depending on what they have been taught and their personal practice. Often your interpretation of the color is what will give it the energy you wish it to have during your ritual work.
