I think everyone is familiar with Daffodils. They come up this time every year to let you know that Spring is finally here! With their arrival comes this beautiful positive energy and the energy of new beginnings.
A few years ago, we started planting bulbs around our house so that each spring, we would look forward to beautiful daffodils around our house. I usually don’t bring them inside, but we had an abnormally cold night that would’ve ended their life early, so we brought them all inside to enjoy them a bit more. They smell incredible! Now they are brightening up my desk. If you have fresh-cut daffodils inside, you want to trim the stems just a bit every couple of days to help extend their indoor life. While they aren’t fond of the cold, they also don’t do as well in the rain. They will often droop when rained upon, and that’s another good time to bring them in and enjoy them. They belong to the family of Narcissus. Many of you know the story of the God Narcissus. He was in love with his appearance and would constantly gaze upon it in the water. Some legends say that he stayed there so long that he grew weary and drowned in the water. The story says that he turned into a Narcissus when he died and I’ve seen some that say that is why the Daffodil lowers its head when it rains.
I love looking into the energy of flowers and it’s incredibly easy to remember the energy that Daffodils bring. They bring the energy of Spring! Spring is about new beginnings, rebirth and renewal. If you are looking to bring this energy into your life they are a great choice. They also are a beautiful color of yellow and bring you the energy of the Sun. The Sun brings you positive energy. They will definitely brighten up your day! They also can help bring clarity. If you find that you are looking to clear away some cloudy energy around you, they will help!
Some believe that they bring luck, abundance, and good fortune. This is especially true for those who take extra care not to step on them. If you are gifting Daffodils, you want to give them in a bunch. It’s said that just gifting one can bring ill fortune.
Have an amazingly magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
