Many of you know you want to use different stones, minerals and crystals when working with different energy. One of the things that many of you are familiar with is that their color variations can influence their energy. Did you also know their shape can affect their energy? Today, I wanted to give you some examples of shapes that you may find and the energy influence that those shapes may have on what you are working with.
Round Shape: When you think of something round, think of Earth. Round shapes are linked to our Mother Earth, the Goddess, and can be seen as a symbol representing women. They are an excellent choice for work that needs Earth, feminine, or reproductive energy. They are also great to use when you want to work with energy involving love.
Round Stones with Holes in Them: Have you seen the stones with holes through them? They are so hard to find, and I get excited when I do. They are often called Hag Stones. These have special energy that can be protective and healing. If they are small enough, I love to make them into necklaces.
Oval Shape (longer): If round shapes represent feminine energy, you can guess where I’m going when you look at the oval shape. This shape is often seen as a phallic symbol and represents male energy or the Great God. If you are trying to work with masculine energy or fertility, they are a great choice. Depending on what energy you want to raise, pairing it with a round stone may help.
Egg Shape: These are still rounded but smaller on top than on the bottom. Egg shapes bring the energy of fertility and new beginnings. Again, a great shape to pair with the other two if you are working with fertility magick. They are also perfect for the energy of new beginnings. You will find that they can also be helpful with creative energy and seeing things from different perspectives.
Square Shape: Those straight edges can be helpful in grounding. Run your fingers along the smooth edges to help you feel calming energy and to bring clarity to your thoughts. They are useful in grounding and promoting balance and stability. They also represent prosperity and abundance.
Pyramid or Triangle Shape: These are not as easy to find, and I always get excited when I find them. These are best to help focus or concentrate energy. I like using them in conjunction with others, similar to how you would use quartz. A quartz point is an excellent example of how to use this. They can assist with the flow of energy. I also find that they often seem to have this ancient energy… something for you to see if you find that yourself. It’s not something I always find, but enough that I associate it with it.
Diamond Shape – I bet you can guess what a stone shaped as a diamond can help with. Energy of abundance often comes with diamond shapes.
Heart Shape: This is another one that I bet you will find it easy to remember what energy they bring. Heart shapes are symbolic of love. They can help bring more energy of love into your life.
L Shape: Have you ever found an L-shaped stone? I have on a couple of occasions. They are said to bring good fortune. Carry them with you or place them somewhere special to help bring you good luck or prosperity.
