Halloween in July!

Ok Who’s excited for Halloween? 🙂 I was in Costco the other day and they had a couple of Halloween decorations out and I just got so excited! Yes…. I know it’s too early.  I must be honest and confess that I get upset when I see Christmas stuff coming out in Summer.  Still… It’s Halloween!!! and Disney!

Isn’t it cute? 🙂  They had a Disney haunted house last year that I loved as well. As soon as I saw it though I got that Halloween twitch!!! The excitement is already starting. Don’t get me wrong… I love Summer.  Some days it can be a bit too toasty but I will take all this green and the birds and the energy of the Sun any day.   I’m not in any rush to get to Halloween… but I still love the buildup to it! Luckily I’m a witch and I have Halloween type decorations in my house all the time! Black cats, pumpkins, witch items…. it’s all here.

I started my love of Halloween from a very early age.  Everyone was always excited about Christmas… I get it.  I was always most excited for Halloween.  Haunted houses, spooky stories about ghosts and the one night that you could dress up and be anything you wanted and get rewarded with candy for doing so? I mean is anything better when you are six?  I loved when the libraries would put all the Halloween and witch books on the shelves. It just made them easier to find. I looked for them all year.  Then there were the crafts that we could make. I spent hours drawing pictures of Halloween. I especially loved Haunted Houses like the picture at the top of the article.

Teenage years were spent going to as many “haunted things” as I could. I loved the Fright Fests, haunted houses and hay rides.  They were so much fun. As an adult, starting the first year I purchased my house at 18,  I threw a Halloween party every year! I couldn’t wait to transform my house. I took pride in the fact that you would not find a single normal light bulb in my house.  I used all different colors to create a spooky house.

Some of my best years are the years I got to spend Halloween with my children.  So much fun to share my love of the holiday with them and to take them Trick-R-Treating every year.  While they are all grown up now I managed to convince them to come with me until they were in their late teens and I love them for it.

Each year now Earl does our front yard up with a haunted pirate scene.  It’s so much fun.  I honestly don’t think it’s something that I will ever outgrow!

I have one deck that really captures the magick of the Halloween season that I remember from when I was young.  It has the best cards! So so much fun to work with and I’ll be honest sometimes I take them out just to look at them.  It’s called the Trick or Treat Tarot Deck. Of course I designed a reading to go with it.  One of my favorite readings that I bring out at Halloween is the Trick or Treat Tarot Reading.  Just for fun I opened it up yesterday and I decided to keep it open today to go along with this article. I’m really in the Halloween mood. Can you tell? I invite you to come have some early Halloween Fun with the Trick or Treat Tarot Reading. It will be delivered this week.  Then I’m going back to Summer I promise! LOL  Well… at least here. 😛

Have an amazingly magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong
