Lunar New Year is a 15 day celebration that is celebrated by many different countries. In China it is known is also known as the Spring Festival in China. One of the things that I bet many of you are most familiar with is the Chinese Zodiac. There are 12 different animals that cycle. This year is the Year of the Dragon.
I have always loved the energy of the Dragon and I will get more into that as we go along. I was born in the Year of the Dragon and I also started Moonsong Daily Magick in the Year of the Dragon! I was pretty excited when I realized that.
One of the things that I love about working with the Dragon Spirit Animal is that the color of the Dragon that you are working with has a strong influence on the energy that they are bringing you. For instance Red Dragons correspond to the Fire Element and they can bring you energy of courage and confidence as well as helping you to find things that you are passionate about in life. If you are interested in learning more about it I have a great article that I wrote many years ago here: Waking up Dragons.
Did you know that the animals in the zodiac also have corresponding elements? For instance, I was born in 76 which was the year of the Dragon and I am a Fire Dragon. This year we are also in the year of the Dragon and it’s a Wood Dragon. I found a great article on Wikipedia that shows you all the elements that correspond to the various years of the Dragons and gives you a bit more information as well. You can find that here: Wikipedia Dragon (Zodiac) If you are a different Zodiac sign you can just search the animal and Zodiac into the Wikipedia search and you will find the table for your Zodiac Animal. Not sure which animal corresponds to the year you were born? You can find that here: Chinese Zodiac
As always I love working with the Tarot when there is special energy. I designed a special reading, the Year of the Dragon Tarot Journey and I put it on sale for you today! If you haven’t ordered it, you can book your reading today.
I hope that you have a magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
Jasmeine Moonsong
