The other day I had some fun with Moonsong Daily Magick and we had a Lord of the Rings edition. I began reading the trilogy a couple of weeks ago. If you’ve been looking for a great book to get into I can highly recommend the trilogy. Just make sure you have access to all three as they leave you hanging at the end of book one and book two. It honestly reads more like one long story.
We have also been watching the movies. It’s been so much fun. If you haven’t watched the trilogy I can’t recommend it enough. Visually it just takes you away to so many magickal places. The story line will definitely keep you involved. If you can grab the extended version I recommend that as well as I’ve really been enjoying the extra scenes.
Last night we were watching the second movie and a clip really jumped out at me and I wanted to share it with all of you today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6C8SX0mWP0
The video is about two minutes and it’s a speech that Sam gave Frodo. Just in case you aren’t able to access the video you can read it here:
Sam’s Speech – Worth Fighting For
Frodo : I can’t do this, Sam.
Sam : I know.
It’s all wrong
By rights we shouldn’t even be here.
But we are.
It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo.
The ones that really mattered.
Full of darkness and danger they were,
and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end.
Because how could the end be happy.
How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened.
But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow.
Even darkness must pass.
A new day will come.
And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.
Those were the stories that stayed with you.
That meant something.
Even if you were too small to understand why.
But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand.
I know now.
Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t.
Because they were holding on to something.
Frodo : What are we holding on to, Sam?
Sam : That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.
I just loved it! I thought many of you may enjoy it as well. If you have some extra time this weekend I encourage you to take a journey with the Lord of the Rings.
I hope that you have a magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
Jasmeine Moonsong
