This is one of my favorite spells this time of year. This spell is perfect with all the swirling energies surrounding everyone right now. It will help you find balance that will be beneficial on your path in the coming weeks.
What You Need
– small orange pumpkin
– something to hollow it out and carve it with.
– a sample of earth from your yard
– a green leaf from an oak tree
– a small container of water from a local stream.
– tea light (should be white)
– feather
– matches
For this spell we are going to work on invoking energies to keep us balanced and positive for the coming season.
Choose a pumpkin that you wish to work with for this spell.
Hollow out the center, and carve the top as if you were making a jack-o-lantern, for this will be the container for the rest of the ingredients.
You may decorate the pumpkin if you wish, drawing pictures or carving runes that represent your true self, hopes and wishes.
Collect the materials listed above.
Set the pumpkin up in the following way:
Set the earth that you’ve collected in the bottom of the hollowed out pumpkin.
Say: “I now bless thee with the element of earth.”
Sprinkle the inside of the pumpkin with the water collected.
Say: “I now bless thee with the element of water”
Set the tea light in the center of the pumpkin and light it.
Say: “I now bless thee with the element of fire”
Set the feather in the bottom of the pumpkin:
Say: “I now bless thee with the element of air”
Add the leaf to the bottom of the pumpkin on the opposite side of the feather. (leaf represents life and wisdom)
Say: “With this leaf I invoke the wisdom of the wise oak tree,
to help me on my path as need be.”
When you have completed this spend some time meditating on the flame and really feeling the spirits of the elements surrounding and supporting you.
When you are ready say the following:
“A dash of earth,
a touch of life,
the calming waters sooth my life,
the fire that will always burn within,
I bring together these elements
to connect with the spirit within.
For on this night I call you forth,
to support me in the energy I put forth,
I seek a season of love and light,
may I stay balanced both day and night.
Your protection I seek as I walk my path,
A wave of love in an everlasting bath.
May I walk with love that is always true,
and speak with a tongue that is forever blue. (represents honesty and the throat chakra)
And may it be done that it harm none.”
You may stay with the energies that you’ve invoked for as long as you wish.
When you are done, snuff the candle and remove the tea light.
Everything else in the pumpkin is to be returned to the Earth over the winter.
Set the pumpkin somewhere where it can remain safely until spring.
In the springtime if you have a garden you may wish to take the earth that the pumpkin has merged with and use it on your garden for additional energy in the coming year.
If you do not have a place to set the pumpkin you may leave it in your house until the time comes where it starts to decay, then choose a safe place to bury it.
