Around this time of year we start hearing a lot about sugar plums. Many of you have probably seen sparkly ornaments in the stores or other pictures and trinkets that show what look like plums with sugar on them. As beautiful as they look that isn’t actually where sugar plums originated or what they are meant to be. If you look up the definition of a sugar plum you will find it to be a piece of hard candy shaped as a plum or a disc. According to historians, sugar plums originated as comfits. Comfits are candy coated nuts or seeds. I have a wonderful article on them done by National Geographic for you here: What Are Sugar Plums Anyway?
Plums are associated with healing, peace, love and luck. You will find them to be popular around Yule and the New Year as the energy that they bring is perfect to end one year and welcome the next. That’s why you will often see recipes like plum pudding, sugar plums, sugar plum tea and other sweet plum recipes around this time of year.
Above you will find a wonderful sugar plum tea recipe that you can use to enhance your dreams.
As plums are purple you will also find them wonderful for spirit work and working with your intuitive gifts. They will help you tune into your third eye and to connect with your personal guides.
I hope that you have a magickal day!
