One of the key components to working with magick is energy. You can have the right spell at the right time with all the right ingredients and if you don’t have that energy right you are going to find that you don’t have the results that you want. Consequently, I’ve had spells that I’ve done where I’ve been missing things and had to visualize them and maybe they weren’t at the perfect time because the house wasn’t quiet until after the kids were in bed and I needed that quiet and they’ve turned out amazing. I’ve also worked spells using just energy to see if I could make them work and I can assure you that I can.
When you begin working with magick focus on learning how to work with magickal energy. Let’s take an incredibly simple example. You have something that you really want to have happen in your life. I’ve told you that wishing on a star is a form of a very simple spell that carries a lot of power as it works. Why? You’ve been told since you were a child that it works and it does. Have you ever watched one of those feel good movies that have you leaving the movie feeling like you can conquer the world? Most Disney movies fall into this category, the Magician, I’m sure you all can think of tons of them. Choose one that you love on the night that you can go out and wish on the first star. Notice the energy you have after you watch the movie. You should know at that point that you can have whatever you want. Now wish on that star. You will find that you have greater results. Why? It’s because of the energy that you have raised.
When you do a ritual or work with a spell it is advised that you take a ritual bath. How many of you know why that is? Part of the reason is to get you ready to work with that spell. It shifts your energy. When you do that you experience better and more meaningful results.
If you start working with energy in little ways on a day to day basis you will find you can do amazing things with it. You want to start working with it. As you master it you will find that it will become easier for you and soon it will just be a part of who you are and what you do.
