One of the things that I love about living in New England is all of the small islands with these houses that look like like cottages on them. It’s something that I haven’t found a lot of in my travels out of New England but it’s quite possible that I haven’t been looking in the right places. Being that I live in New England, the majority of my travel is definitely here. I do know that if you run the coast of New England, up through Maine and into Canada you will find the cottage like houses on islands continues. You can even find them inland on the lakes in a lot of areas. It’s something that I love and love exploring when am able to find them.
his particular house in the photo above has been getting popular lately and you may have seen a photo of it in the Summer. The house itself is located in Old Solotwin in the Ukraine and apparently is part of a house that you can rent. I say part as this is the fisherman’s house that you are looking at. The main house is back on the mainland. It looks like such an amazing place to spend a week! Earl found a video of it for me if any of you are interested. I loved this photo when I saw it and wanted to share it with all of you as it immediately reminded me of all the time I’ve spent exploring little islands like this with bridges to the ones without houses on them and exploring areas with houses on them like this one. Can you imagine what a different way of life it would be? With a lot of the ones out here you need a boat to get to them or they have these narrow long bridges that go to the islands. Many of them don’t have electricity as it’s too difficult to get it to the home over the water or perhaps too expensive. I would call it a simpler time but I’m thinking it would definitely be harder! However I always thought the peace of living on a little island like that would be a beautiful change of pace. Hopefully it will bring you magickal visions to start your morning.
