“Sometimes the safest place is when you flee to what seems the most dangerous,” said Granny, and then she described how the prince rode right into the darkest forest and the shadows stopped hissing at the edge.
You’re probably wondering who Granny is by now.
She’s from the book “My Grandmother asked me to tell you she’s sorry.” I am currently reading this book and am just over half way through it. Last night I had a bit of a marathon reading the first half as the book really did a great job of bringing me into it and holding my attention.
It’s about a little girl named Elsa who is 7 years old and definitely working through some challenges in her life. Her Grandmother is an amazing light in her life, although some would describe her as a little bit crazy. She delights Elsa with beautiful stories of the Land-of-Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas where everyone is different and her stories teach Elsa to see the world with this wonderful perspective on life. I definitely recommend the book and I know after this one I will be reading more by this author.
Today though I wanted to share the quote at the top of this article that jumped out at me from the book last night. I loved it honestly. It’s something that I’m working so hard on this year. I’m working on those things that scare me the most and just going at them as I believe that if I confront them they won’t be able to scare me anymore. So far it’s working out! I’ll let you know at the end of 2019 how it goes.
I think it’s a sound principal though. you won’t know what it is that scares you until you really look at what it is and figure out if it really is as scary as you think it is. So I invite you to grab a copy of this book because I think you will love it and join me in an attempt to conquer our fears.
Have a magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
