When you support a small business you support a dream.
Thank you for supporting a small business! At 18 I set out to join the Air National Guard to help pay for my education. I served for 6 years and found myself loving information management and the technology that I was trained to work with. I wanted to get a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and decided that my concentration would be in Management. Honestly? I really wanted an Art Degree from Salem. I would love to tell you that it was because I knew that was the best school however it was honestly because I really wanted to live in Salem Massachusetts and I really wanted to study art. It didn’t quite happen that way and I received a degree from Westfield State University the town that I live in now. Looking back it was so important that it happened that way. I learned so much from that degree and I was blessed to work with some amazing people who had a huge part in shaping my life.
I took that degree and I found myself a job at one of the top-paying companies in my area at the time… Mass Mutual. The floors were all marble and the walls were lined with the artwork of Norman Rockwell. They had a private collection and I spent many happy hours walking those hallways to look at his art. I made it to the top of my department in payment services, found myself in charge of the most successful business people in New York as I had a reputation for getting things done, and honestly was doing quite well for myself. When I became pregnant with my daughter 18 years ago this year I had an agreement with them to work part-time. It was important to me that I raise my children. At 9 months they decided they couldn’t find anyone to replace me and tried to force me to stay full time. I quit that day.
My daughter was incredibly easy to take care of and I love her for it. In her early years when she was napping, I taught myself web page design and learned to work from home. I had an early website that generated some income that I was quite proud of that taught others to work from home as well. One day Google changed their algorithms and literally overnight my income went down to nothing. It was a lesson for me. I knew that in order to have a successful business online I had to have original content. I decided that if I was going to rebuild I was going to do it my way and do what I wanted to do, On March 12, 2009, Wiccan Moonsong was born. The graphic above was made at that time. I decided that day to follow what called me and honor the witch inside me. At the time I declared myself to be Wiccan as it was less threatening to people in my life who were scared of the word witch. Through my journey, I have come to accept the word witch proudly for I honestly have always been one. In doing that I decided to honor the name Jasmeine Moonsong when I claimed that title and changed my business name from Wiccan Moonsong to Jasmeine Moonsong.
March 12 is Earl’s birthday. The signs were there and this brings me to the next important piece of my puzzle. 7 years ago this month my divorce was finalized. At that point, I had a small income going my way. There was no way I was going to support a house on it though and I knew I was in trouble. The night he asked me for a divorce and I had the courage to finally admit that I had wanted one for a long time was the night the stars aligned. To this day I get chills. My phone kept dinging that night. New subscriber to Moonsong Daily Magick. For hours this went on. I was thrilled. It dinged so many times that my income became possible to support this house for my children. It was within reach. That night gave me so much hope. It was on that day that I took that hope one step further to make the leap to offer tarot readings to close that gap and get us money for the things that we needed like food. I had been reading for quite some time before that but never for the business as that was terrifying. It is now my favorite thing to do. I love what I can do with the tarot and my intuitive gifts. Earl would join me the following year.
In looking back on my life I am exactly where I was meant to be. All roads led here. I was seeing spirits at an incredibly young age. Part of me wonders if it was because I was so sick as a child. It’s nothing short of a miracle that I survived my childhood and part of me wonders if that contributed to my gifts. I spent so much time in hospitals alone. I believe that was how it was at the time? You could have family visit you but not stay overnight. I remember huge rooms with tons of beds filled with children. Yet even though I didn’t have anyone with me, I always knew I had spirits with me. Growing up I was obsessed with anything to do with being a witch. I wrote a letter to Laurie Cabot at 10. She helped to cement that path for me when she wrote back and I will forever be grateful to her. I read and watched anything I could get my hands on for how to be a witch and a psychic. Yet it never occurred to me that I could be! Yet here I am today. I have all of you to thank for that. In my career, I’ve been blessed to work with some of the best like Laurie Cabot, Raven Grimassi, Christopher Penczak and Sheilaa Hite. I am blessed to live in an area that is rich with new age shops and allowed me access to all of them. The stars truly aligned for me in just so many ways. I know that I am exactly where I am meant to be.
On this small business Saturday, thank you so much for supporting me in my business. This is my business that I have worked so hard to build. I support my family with this business and you would be amazed how far every reading you purchase goes. When you purchase a $100.00 reading that pays my groceries for the week or lets me take my kids to the movies. I can tell you with all my heart that it makes an absolutely huge difference. Thank you so much for all your love and support. I am living my dream because of all of you.
Much Love and Many Blessings,
Jasmeine Moonsong
