I had a great question from one of you the other day that I wanted to share with all of you. It’s one that I think is pretty interesting and it’s one that you want to know if you are doing spell work or working with magick as you may find some spells require one or the other specifically.
A Graveyard is next to a church. A cemetery is not. Pretty easy right? I usually remember graveyard by thinking of a church having a yard, therefore part of the yard is the graveyard. Maybe that will help some of you.
If you think about it the energy between the two will be very different. One is next to a place of worship and one is not. Being next to a church you will also find that often the funeral is at the same place which can also contribute to the energy.
Cemeteries on the other hand are a shared burial place that belong to people of all different religions. Funerals may be performed there but often are done somewhere else and just the burial is done in the cemetery. You may also find that certain cemeteries contain the sites of people who weren’t allowed to be buried in the graveyards… accused witches for example.
I always advise you to do your homework on the cemetery if you are doing any type of spell work and make sure that whatever you are working on is appropriate energy wise for the cemetery that you wish to work in. While most graveyards and cemeteries can be peaceful, their energy will vary greatly depending on where you are.
I hope this helps!
Have a magickal day!
