The Encyclopedia of 5,000 spells was one of the first books in my library of magickal books and it is definitely one of my favorites. When you are learning to work with magick and learning to create your own spells I think having a lot of examples is always helpful and I’ve referred to this book as a jumping off point for writing my own spells for years.
What I love the most about this book is that it seems to have something for pretty much every situation. I have been looking for spells for some strange things through the years and I can always count on this book to give me a great example. That being said, I don’t agree with everything in the book. There are some things that I wouldn’t use or wouldn’t do when working with magick but that is what is beautiful about the craft. Your craft, your magick, your practice is simply that. It’s yours. I love learning what I can from everyone that I am blessed to learn from and then I use that information to build my own practice.
This is also a great book to thumb through for inspiration. I picked up on so many magickal tid bits in my journey through this book. I do believe that it is well suited for everyone. If you are just starting out in working with magick this is a treasure trove of amazing information for you to dig through. Even if you are seasoned in working with magick you are going to find so many interesting things in here. It has inspired me on so many of the things that I have worked with in my craft.
We are incredibly lucky to have so much information packed into one book. She did a lot of work to make one of the most comprehensive spell books that I have ever seen in my travels. I think you will find a lot of others that work with magick will tell you the same. It’s definitely one that is worthy of the space on your magickal book shelf.
Have a magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
