With all the energy of change and transition around us now, it’s definitely a great time to try something new in your life like learning something new or finding a new place to explore. Have you ever noticed that when you do that you are happier? Have you ever noticed that on days that you can go out and do new things how good those days feel? Perhaps sometimes vacations are so much fun because they often are a break from the day to day activities to go do something new? 🙂 Today I have a couple of things for you to explore. I have an amazing article and a free course that you can take online from Yale. Up for it? It’s a bit of a rabbit hole that I dove down today and I found it to be magickal and helpful so I thought I would share it with all of you.
The first link is an article that started it all: The Brain-Changing Magic of New Experiences – The psychological reasons why novelty—from visiting new places to socializing—makes us happier and healthier people.
From that article I found my way to a free course from Yale online called The Science of Well-Being. The course was made available in 2018 and was the most popular course ever taught at Yale so they decided to make it available for free on Coursera. Coursera is an online learning platform that hosts a lot of different courses. You can buy a certificate for $50.00 but honestly I just am doing the course for free. If you decide that you want the certificate I’m pretty sure that you can purchase it at the end as well. I just have started doing the lessons and am really excited about how enjoyable I’m finding them and I thought many of you would as well. For those of you that have tablets or iPhones, Coursera does have an app available. I would recommend signing up first on the website and establishing your log-in. Then you can just log into the app and you will find that it not only lists the courses that you are taking but it also saves your place. I’m impressed so far! I do hope that many of you enjoy it. Let me know how you do with it!
I hope that you have a magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
