The other day I wrote an article for you on choosing your pendulum and I showed you some of the pendulums that I’ve been working with through the years. The pendulum above I told you that I use for healing work. I had a couple of you ask me what type of stone it was as I didn’t list it in the article. The stone on this pendulum is a Shiva Lingam Stone.
The Shiva Lingam stone is actually a beautiful river stone made up of a variety of components like chalcedony, agate, jasper and quartz. It has an amazing smooth texture as most river stones do and will feel incredibly cool and smooth in the palm of your hand. This stone is a rare stone that is collected from the Narmada river bank in Onkar, Mandhata once a year. This is one of India’s sacred holy sites.
The stone is also known as Banalinga. The name Shiva Lingam is in honor of the God Shiva the Hindu God who is known for protecting and transforming the Universe. Shiva is part of the Great Trinity in Hinduism. In the Great trinity Shiva is also known as the destroyer. The Narmada river where the stones are found is said to have come from his body.
The stones found on the bank of the river are most often kept in the state that they are found as they are cherished for their energy. They come in a variety of sizes and ranges of the color brown. I love all the different patterns that you will find on them. Some of them have the most gorgeous swirls. Others look as if they have been dipped in a dye their lines are so defined.
As you can imagine the stones have some powerful energy. This energy may be enhanced depending on if they are found in the holy city or in a different area along the banks at a different time. Either way the stone has energy that I know so many of you will enjoy if you can find one.
I mentioned that I use this stone in healing. One of the things that I love about this stone is that it doesn’t just heal one chakra center, it is good for them all. That alone is a huge benefit when doing chakra work. The stone is incredibly responsive when working with the chakras. It also brings powerful healing energy to it’s owner and will enhance the energy that you are using to heal another.
The stone is naturally grounding and it helps you to bring balance into your life and into the energy that you are working with. It also empowers you to work from a grounded place while having a strong connection to spirit. It acts as a bit of an energetic channel for this energy.
It’s an incredibly peaceful stone. The moment you pick it up you can just feel your body relax into it’s energy. It’s definitely a favorite stone to work with because it’s energy is so relaxing.
If you have blocks in your life this is a great stone to work with as it can help you to identify them and to navigate your way past them empowering you to make changes in life that will help you to find success.
I did a quick look to see if I could find the stone for you as I’m guessing some of you may be interested. I found a lot of them on Etsy. Just make sure that they are in a similar shape to the ones that I’ve shown you above. They can get mixed up with Jasper which has similar energy but it’s not the same.
