The crystals you use, incense, magickal tools and other special items are what make you a successful in your personal craft right? While I’m not going to dispute that they can be a valuable tool to help you when you are working with magick, I want you to know that they are not always necessary.
I was taught by several people on my path that the most important tool that you can have when working with magick is you. It’s your intentions, your energy, your heart, your soul, your beliefs that make magick work. Go back and read that again. It’s your intentions, your energy, your heart, your soul, your beliefs that make magick work. You need to remember this as you move forward in your practice. I find so many people get so caught up in having the right materials and placing them right, timing them right and on and on that their magick never gets off the ground because you cannot possibly raise the energy that you want when you are that distracted.
When I started out I’ll be honest I was quite skeptical that just energy was enough. Me… skeptical of something? Let me just say now that I adore the teachers that I’ve had that had the patience to help me to gain the knowledge that I have today. They were all amazing. With their love and patience I have learned so much and I love that I can help pass that knowledge to some of you.
One of my teachers managed to hit home with this concept for me by giving me the example of wishing on a star. I know that it worked because as I went through some really difficult times I sat outside pouring my heart out to that first star of the night so many nights that I lost track asking for a few very specific things in my life. Those very specific things I have today and I am so happy. That was what got me thinking that she might be right….
Through the years I have done so many trials and so much energy work making sure that what I found and was working with was really happening. It was, it does. My guides are amazing that I work with. Here’s another quick example.
The day that I decided to get divorced I was concerned because I knew I wasn’t making enough money to hold the house up on my own. That night my Facebook page exploded, Daily Magick exploded and all of a sudden I had exactly what I needed to get by. We weren’t going to be rich.. but we were going to make it. It was possible for me to keep the house. To this day, I still don’t know where all that traffic came from on my websites. My guides and the help that I asked for is the only answer I have. This event was absolutely huge in building my trust.
The point to my whole story is that while tools to help you are amazing and they can be helpful if you don’t have access to them, you can’t have things like that around because people don’t know that you practice, whatever your reason is, they are optional not necessary.
The Universe is always listening. Give them your heart, be honest, ask for help and you will find they will respond. It’s incredibly powerful magick.
As you move forward on your path and get comfortable working with energy you can then start adding other things to enhance your energy work. Make sure that you are solid with the basics of energy first. You magick will still be strong I promise.
