Welcome August!
Welcome to August! I have so many wonderful things coming your way in August! This is one of my favorite months of the year as all the gardens are bursting with treasures for us each day and here in New England everything is just so green and beautiful. I just love the Summer. This Summer seems as if it has just been going by so fast! It’s the beginning of August and I still haven’t made it out to the ocean! I’m hoping to get out there this weekend. There’s a place I love to go to that looks quite a lot like the picture above, and that’s why I chose that picture to welcome in August.
Let’s take a look at what’s coming our way this month!
August 1 – Lammas or Lughnasadh – On the 1st of this month, we celebrated our first of three harvests on our Wheel of the Year. It’s time to celebrate the crops and gifts that the Earth is giving to us now.
August 5 – Celtic Tree month Hazel begins.
August 11 – Full Moon
August 12 – 13 Perseids Meteor Shower
August 13 – Roman Festival of Pomona, goddess of apples and orchards
August 14 – Saturn at opposition. It will be closest to the Earth on this night, so it’s a great night to try to see it and get pictures if you have a telescope!
August 23 – Vulcanalia, the Roman festival of craftsmen.
August 27 – New Moon
August 31 – Raymond Buckland’s birthday.
I pulled the Queen of Cups for us for August. I love that the ocean came up for us here as well. I can feel its energy moving in all around us right now. The ocean is calling! Time spent at the ocean, lake, or any favorite body of water during the Summer is always amazing. Have you ever noticed how relaxing it is? That’s because water is naturally grounding. Make it a point to grab extra time next to some water with your favorite fruit-infused icy water beverage, and watch how quickly you relax.
The energy of water is all around us in August helping us to connect to our emotions and our heart. Cups are about the heart’s desires, and you will find that desire to follow your heart this month quite strong. Do it! It’s a great month to spend extra time pursuing those hearts’ desires. They may lead you somewhere amazing. You may also find that your ship finally comes in. Something that you’ve been working on or hoping for may finally get here for you.
The energy of love and romance will be strong in August. It’s a great month to spend some extra time with that special someone. If you aren’t in a relationship and are looking, you may find it’s a great time to find a connection. Any love goes this month. Spend extra time with loved ones, friends, family, and those amazing fur babies. It’s going to be a great month full of happiness and love. Get out there and have a great time.
