If I had to choose one of the most magical times of the year, July would definitely be at the top of my list. Here in New England, fireflies are everywhere and there is something about sitting in your backyard at night just surrounded by thousands of blinking lights that is just so incredibly magical. We were driving in upstate New York last weekend in a huge state park with miles and miles of forest and protected lands and the forest around us was just sparkling with fireflies. It was really incredible. The only place I’ve ever seen that many fireflies is in the field across from my house where thankfully they don’t use any pesticides so it’s just a wall of glitter when you gaze down upon the field. We are up on a bit of a hill. Earl spends a lot of the year specifically landscaping our yard for the fireflies so our backyard is quite similar to across the street and I just love it. I can just sit out there for hours watching the blinking and listening to the frogs talking to us from our pond and the tree frogs in the distance.
As if the fireflies weren’t magical enough I am surrounded by amazing growth everywhere. Here in New England I definitely live the Wheel of the Year and all the tomatoes are just starting to turn red. The herbs are abundant all over my yard and beans are getting ready to come in. Oh! Sunflowers! I planted them on my deck this year. I’m so excited to show all of you.
This month we kick off some interesting energy!! We are beginning the first of a series of Four Super Moons in a row on the 3rd! It’s going to make Summer interesting!! August actually has two Full Moons making one of them a Blue Moon. I’m loving the positive energy that I can feel around these Moons and the energy of expansion. I do believe some wonderful things are coming our way! :).

August 1 – Lammas or Lughnasadh – Celebration of the Grain Harvest.
I pulled the Knight of Pentacles for us for July and it really does a wonderful job illustrating the energy that I can feel coming our way this month. Get ready for that energy of expansion, new things coming your way, new options and opportunities, new connections! I do have a lot of energy centering on relationships so you will find that you enjoy spending extra time with those that mean the most to you and you may even find that you meet a new friend or two. The energy of romance is high this month. This is for both your relationships and self-love. You will find that you begin to manifest something new in your life this month. This is likely something new like a hobby or something that may take you a bit of time to work on. Don’t worry about the destination the journey is key.
