I work with a lot of different divination tools, from all the oracle and tarot decks that I’ve shown many of you to various pendulums and crystals that I use to help me in my work my collection has been expanding each year.
One of the things that I have learned when working with all my various divination tools is that they often choose me. One of my favorite stories is of how I found my main pendulum today.
It’s a Rainbow Moonstone pendulum and it’s the one that I use the most. I found it a couple of hours from my house in a place in Connecticut called Olde Mistick Village in Mystic Connecticut. It’s a really beautiful place to go if you get the chance. It’s this little area filled with tiny eclectic shops. Tucked in the back corner there use to be a New Age shop that I unfortunately think went out of business. I was excited to find the shop that day and there was a cat that was on the back porch of the shop right next to a display of pendulums. There it was a Rainbow Moonstone pendulum. I adore Rainbow Moonstones they are one of the main stones that I work with along with Labradorite which is their sister stone.
As I held the pendulum in my hand it just hummed. I blushed a bit as I noticed the woman in the shop watching me as I silently ran it through the basic commands and watched it respond flawlessly in my hand. It was early in my career though, and at that time I already had a different pendulum that worked for me so I set it down in the shop that day. I remember I was short on cash at that time as well.
Over the next two weeks I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I was actually dreaming about it! I called the shop and talked to an amazing lady. I arranged to pay her over the phone and she shipped it to me. Eight years later I am still working with it full time. I adore it.
I find that some tools have come to me for specific purposes as well. For instance there is a brown and beige stone pendulum that for the life of me I can’t remember the name of the stone. I use that pendulum for healing work. The long pendulum with a crystal ball on the top and pointer on the bottom came to me for when I do medium work. The crystal at the base of them is a Lemurian Crystal that I found tucked in the back of a box at a gem show. It sits in front of me all day every day as I adore it’s energy.
When you work with divination you will find that tools call to you. You may find that you need multiple tools for different things. As you work with them you will learn what works best to correspond with what you are doing. When you find that you are called to a tool don’t dismiss it as you may find that it is one you are meant to work with.
