One of the questions that I get pretty frequently is that if our beloved furbabies who leave us for the other side can become animal spirit guides for us. Absolutely! I’ve seen this happen so many times. They may be with you for a short amount of time until you heal from their loss or sometimes they walk with you for the remainder of your life. It really depends on what your soul needs in this life and your connection. By connection I want to be incredibly clear that I don’t mean the love that you shared for each other. I am referring to how your souls work together and what you stand to learn from your furbabies soul as a guide. This leads me into my next most common question….
If my pet isn’t my guide are they still with me? Does it mean I did something wrong? You can have a furbaby come back and visit you without being a guide. I’m sure many of you have felt a kitty from the other side curl up next to you on your bed, or you could swear you catch their distinct scent in your kitchen. How about the animal that you see in your day to day activities that is a spitting image of your furbaby or acts the same? All of these are examples of ways that your furbabies can connect with you. They do not need to be a spirit guide in order to connect with you or to check in with you. I do want to let you know that the same thing applies to people.
If they crossed over and you didn’t get a sign is everything ok? Absolutely! It may be that you didn’t notice the sign. Sometimes the signs are obvious and sometimes they can be a bit tougher to spot. A couple years ago now I had to make the decision to let my Golden Retriever Max go. I was absolutely shattered. The day after I went for a long walk and he sent me a deer. I knew it was him because of the way the deer was. It almost ran into me! Then it just sat and looked at me for a few moments. It was if time stood still. I knew it was him letting me know he was on the other side and sending me love. I also was sent rainbows. Before I started working with my guides and gained a solid understanding of the signs that they send for me, it’s quite possible I would have dismissed it as a coincidence. I know that it was him.
One more question I get a lot. Does it matter where and how you buried them. No. It truly doesn’t. Their spirit will go on with you forever and when one day you decide it’s your time to cross to the other side they truly will be there waiting to meet you.
