Different colors carry different energy. I often use them in my practice to help me draw the energy around me that I want to work with. You will find that working with the energy of different colors can be incredibly rewarding. Have you ever noticed that putting on a shirt that is brightly colored with oranges or yellows can give your mood a positive boost? Maybe a purple coat makes you feel a bit more enchanting or magickal. It’s not just the things that you wear. Colors are around you in so many ways every day influencing your energy. You can draw upon the energy of colors during the day to help you to get what you need.
Something fun that you can use is a color divination bag. Choose a fabric that you want to work with and grab it in as many colors as you can. I find that felt is amazing for this as it’s usually inexpensive, comes in a wide variety of colors and you can write on it with a permanent marker. Cut all the pieces so that they are the same size. You can then look up the energy that each color brings and write it on the cloth if you want. Put them all in the bag and mix them all up. A nice roomy bag is best for this as you can really shake them up. The only thing with felt is that it loves to stick so you may find that you have to shuffle things around with your hand as well. When you are looking for an energy boost draw a piece of fabric from the bag. You will find that the color you select will correspond to the energy your soul wishes to have at that time. This is something great to do first thing in the morning or when you need a boost.
You can also expand upon this by adding different patterns etc. What matters most is what energy you associate with the fabric that is in there. This is your divination method. Have fun with it!
