Part of being good at rituals, spells, magick is having a solid relationship with energy. If you think about it with any magickal work that you are doing you are working with energy. It’s incredibly important to understand that energy and to know how to work with it in order to find the most success in your work.
You have to develop a relationship with energy in order to be able to work with it in the best way. Everything in the world is made up of energy so the more types of relationships you have the more success you will find.
For example, if you have a spell that requires you to use work with a tree, you are going to find that you have much bigger success if you work with a tree that you have an energetic relationship with. What in the world does that mean?
I have a huge old oak tree down the road from me on this beautiful walk. It’s become a bit of a sacred place for me as I use to visit it any time I felt down. The area that it’s in was previously an area where people went to have a good time though that was many many years ago and you would only know that if you are familiar with the area as there is no evidence of it. I loved the tree the moment I saw it as it was huge and I always felt comforted when I was there. I connected with that tree in my own way. That is an example of an energetic connection. If I ever needed to work with a spell again that needed an oak tree I would definitely go there.
If you are using a spell that requires vegetables, it’s better if they have come from your garden if you can. Why? Because you have spent the time to grow them. Do you see where I am going with this? The addition of your energy to the item that you are working with before you work the spell will give you a better chance of success.
Work on those energetic connections. Find a place in your yard that is special to you and have your morning coffee or tea out there each day. Pay attention to the birds that come to visit you. Notice how the plants change throughout the year. Watch for anything new in your area. Make it “your” area. Your presence, your energy is what helps to establish your energetic connection to that area. Then when you need to work a spell outside it’s the perfect place.
