Learning to Spot Signs that Our Loved Ones are With Us
Many of us have loved ones that are currently on the other side. As we are close to Samhain the veils are thinnest so communication is even easier.
What I wanted to address today is the methods of communication and how we can communicate. Often times we are looking for things like we see in the movies, full body apparitions, voices clear as a bell etc. If that happened all the time there would be zillions of stories out there and no one would need psychic’s or mediums. The more sensitive you are the easier it is to pick up messages from your loved ones.
But here’s the thing. Instead of looking for voices and full bodies apparitions which even the most talented psychics would have a hard time seeing, you need to know where to look. So let’s look at some ways that will help you to know they are with you.
Watch your dreams. This is the easiest place for our loved ones to communicate with us. If there is someone you wish to connect with, keep a notebook next to your bed and write down as much as you remember of your dreams as soon as you wake up.
Pay attention for synchronicities and other signs around you. If there is something that your ancestor loved and you are all of a sudden seeing a lot of them, that can be a sign. My Grandmother loved cooking and making Italian cookies. Every so often I will find them in the strangest of places and I just know it’s her. On my birthday every year I see a rainbow. It always makes me cry when I see it. It’s been over 20 years since I lost them and every year it’s there. It’s probably one of the most powerful signs from them. There are even signs that won’t be so obvious but you just get this feeling in your belly that lets you know it’s then. Be careful what you dismiss as a coincidence.
Pay attention to scents and other sounds, sensations. My Grandmother has several scents that she sends me. I was discouraged when she first crossed because I wasn’t finding signs that I felt were obvious enough. I second guessed myself a lot then. I finally figured out that she sends scents. It depends on the spirit what signs you will get. When you learn to detect their presence you will know they are around. Don’t question their presence. If you think you felt them, odds are you did.
Watch for animals. For instance, my Grandfather loved Deer and he will send them to me as a sign. I also have cardinals that are sent to me. I also believe that sometimes our fur babies on the other side will send other animals to visit us as well or in some cases perhaps to live with us.
To add to the energy for contacting them there’s some things you can do to help. I’m always a huge fan of the white candle and simply asking from your heart. I believe direct questions and queries often get direct answers. So light a candle and talk to them. They can always hear you,
You can also set up an altar or special space for them to help add to their energy and encourage their presence. If you have loved ones on the other side they are always with you, even when you think you can’t hear them or see them. Just know that they are there.
