A few years ago in February Earl and I were running some errands and came across an incredible deal on kayaks. They were just over $100.00 a piece. It was a lot of money for us at the time and though we really wanted them I remember being really hesitant. We talked about it a lot and I do believe we were back in less than 24 hours to buy them. Best purchase ever. Honestly.
There is something about being out on a kayak where it’s quiet and there aren’t many people that is just unbelievably amazing. We are lucky to have a lake that is pretty close to where we live that has this wonderful canal that comes off of it. It’s too small for the boats that run the lake but it is just the perfect size for our kayaks.
The picture makes it look a bit bigger but you can see the front of the kayak at the bottom. Those are all Lilly pads along the side. In this area, there are the most beautiful blue damselflies that will hang out on your boat and follow you. As the area is pretty abandoned with the exception of the occasional kayak or canoe there are turtles and frogs everywhere. We saw a blue heron as well.
Here are some water plants. We didn’t take a lot of pictures. We usually only take Earl’s phone when we go in case of an emergency and he keeps it in a special water box to keep it safe. I had these few to share with you. If you get the chance to go out in a kayak I highly suggest it. They are incredibly relaxing. Just make sure it isn’t too windy out as they can be a bit challenging if you are going in the waves against the wind!
This is the picture that I took from shore for you. This is where we put the kayaks in. We go in the canal on the other side of this pond near where you see the mountain in the distance. Cloudy days are always amazing as they aren’t so hot.
I hope that you have the most amazingly magickal day!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
