New Moon Blessings! Here we are! Our final New Moon of 2020. For a second I wanted to write 2019. There are some days that I feel like 2020 wasn’t quite what it was suppose to be. Challenging is a definite word that I would use to describe this year. However I also feel like a lot was brought into the open and uncovered this year both in the world and our personal lives. What we had residing in the shadows was exposed and it’s been our choice what we choose to do with that energy.
Over the last few months there has been a strong emphasis on personal freedom. That energy shifted with Samhain and our Witch’s New Year as we moved from letting go to starting to embrace what we wanted to see in our lives. With the New Moon tonight we have the conclusion of a powerful dual eclipse, the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse that we experienced at the end of November and our New Moon and Solar Eclipse today.
This Solar Eclipse is special as it is our only Solar Eclipse of 2020. Even more interesting? We had one in 2019 just before we began 2020. In some ways I feel like a portal of energy will close tonight and a new one will open. When we have a Solar Eclipse paired with a New Moon we have temporary darkness to help us banish anything that we may need to in our lives and then move towards the new energy that is waiting for us. Tonight is the night to say goodbye to the past, things that no longer are in your best interest, energy that drags you down, things you may no longer need and get ready to welcome in the energy of our New Moon and the New Year.
Tonight’s New Moon and this Solar Eclipse are going to start pushing us forward. Our New Moon is in Sagittarius and as you may remember Sagittarius loves expansion and growth. If you have done your work with the shadows this year and really looked at life and the things that you needed to see you are going to find the energy this evening incredibly empowering as it begins to illuminate some wonderful things for us in 2021. I still see challenges coming our way but they should start to roam into the realm of closer to normal (that’s as close as I can get to saying normal! lol)
While this was a challenging year for sure, you also want to look back at blessings and insight that came your way this year. Whenever you have challenges you also have blessings and wisdom gained. That balance in energy will be there. Your awareness of that balance and what you gained this year as well as the challenges that you navigated are what will help you as you begin 2021.
Tonight think about what you want next year. Think about if there’s anything that you need to conclude this year. You have one final moment of release with the Eclipse. This is your chance. If you’ve been waiting to release something or trying to find the courage to, the energy to support you in this is today. Remember when you release energy you make room for new beginnings.
For the New Moon and Eclipse tonight I have drawn the Fool from my main tarot deck, the Mystic Dreamer Tarot. The Fool is letting us know that we are at a crossroads. No more do we have a single road available to us that we need to walk so that we can see certain things. We are coming up to a clearing in our lives and a place where the road will extend in several different directions. It will be your choice what way you wish to take your journey next. Draw upon the wisdom that you have gained over the last year and reflect upon the growth that you have experienced. Consider if there’s anything that you need to leave behind before you embark upon this journey and let it go now. It’s time to get ready to move forward. A new journey is waiting for us all.
