Apparently, a few years ago, there was a trend to take a shower in the orange with you. I missed out on it when it went by and heard about it for the first time last night. It started with a post on Reddit in 2016 when users were asked the question of what was something unconventional they have done and would recommend. The description of eating an orange in the shower without worrying about getting sticky or making a mess really caught on, and before you knew it, it became a trend. What’s funny is that people are still posting about it on Reddit today. If you go to Reddit and search Shower Orange, you will find that people still post about it today.
It sounded like fun, and I have been addicted to mandarins and the smell of citrus lately. We happen to have a ton of mandarins in the house, so I decided to give it a go. It smells amazing! While Mandarins are significantly easier to eat than oranges and don’t make anywhere near the mess, I still found what I was looking for. They make the shower smell absolutely amazing. I let the peels sit in the hot water near the drain, and the whole room smelled like oranges.
This is an amazing way to wake up in the morning or just get an extra boost to your energy. As many of you know citrus is energizing. The smell will also help boost your mood making you happy and ready to greet the day. If you are someone who loves baths you can also float the peels in your bathwater.
Now, if you are someone who doesn’t like the thought of eating an orange in the shower, you can get a pretty similar effect from citrus-scented soaps. I have a body wash that I am in love with right now from soft soap.
It’s amazing! The orange combined with honeysuckle is just bliss and always makes me happy.
