Planting Trees to Honor the Earth
As Wiccan and Witches we partner with Mother Earth as we walk our life. Something that’s really important is planting trees for the future generations and to help heal our Earth.
When I moved into my house we had several trees that were really aging. As the years went by they actually wound up being a threat to the house. I was unbelievably upset at taking them down but I knew I had to as they were really posing a risk to myself and my children. My bedroom and my daughter’s bedroom were both under them.
When Earl moved in we started really working in the yard and making it “our oasis” as we call it. One of the things that we did was invest in fruit trees. We waited until the end of the season each year and bought at least one fruit tree. We’ve been doing this for the last three years and I currently have 5 fruit trees in my yard and one decorative one all that have been planted within the last three years. I am not sure we will be able to do it this year as our house can only support so many trees! We’ve also worked with several other baby trees that were starting to grow to make sure that they have their chance to grow.
Plant trees where you live. Fruit trees are amazing to have, flowering decorative trees are incredible for the bees, invest in trees for your home if you can. You will find that there are a lot of organizations that you can donate trees as well. You may want to ask a town or a local park if you can donate a tree. Every tree helps!
