I had the wonderful experience of being able to work with Laurie Cabot and Paul Messerle last week. Words cannot express how much joy came with this wonderful experience and how much I learned from them both. I’m quite sure that all of you know that Laurie is the official witch of Salem. Paul Messerle is a high priest of the Cabot Kent Hermetic Temple, a teacher in California, an artist and a shamanic practitioner as well. He’s such a wonderful person and I was blessed to have the opportunity to learn everything I did from them.
I was interested in Paul’s Art and when looking for something he had created for the Temple I came across a Ted Talk that he did a couple of years ago that I just loved. Today I want to share that talk with you.
If you’ve ever felt like the odd man out or that you really didn’t fit in, this talk is for you. If you’ve ever spent so much time trying to please others that you’ve become lost, this talk is for you. I can’t tell you how many years I denied who I was because it wasn’t acceptable. I can’t tell you how many years I hid being interested in being a witch because it wasn’t acceptable. I honestly spent so much time making everyone else happy that I got lost in the process. I was denying who I was.
I was denying the girl that’s always been there, that girl that never quite fit in though I tried so hard. I was denying the girl who wrote letters to Laurie Cabot in the 4th grade because I knew then I was a witch and loved drawing haunted houses and reading ghost stories and anything magickal I could get my hands on but yet I was still afraid of the dark. Finally I have stepped into who I am. I am a witch, a tarot reader and a psychic and I am finally proud of it all. I am filled with light and love and those who can see that will walk with me. It took a long time to get here. Part of walking your path if you are a witch, Wiccan or just finding your way in life is learning to honor who you truly are. This talk is for all of you and Paul does a really great job. I hope that you love it as much as I did.
