The High Priestess

Today I wanted to take a look at the High Priestess tarot card with you..   The High Priestess is quite similar to a High Priestess in life.  She is one that is very intuitive, wise, and knowledgeable.  Most High Priestesses will be a bit mysterious and not show everything about them keeping some of their knowledge to themselves.  The High Priestess tarot card can indicate the same.  It can indicate that there is knowledge that is still hidden.  These things that are hidden can affect your life.  She is typically sitting between two columns and those two columns can represent a decision that is to be made.  The Priestess doesn’t encourage you to make that decision quickly though as she wants you to use your intuition and look for information that may be hidden before you decide.  She can also indicate that you need to gather more information before you can make your decision.

Another interpretation of this card depending on the position of the card in the spread, is to encourage the person being read for to teach.  It can stand for them having wisdom, serenity, knowledge and understanding, all traits that would lend to them being a wonderful teacher.  It can also be a sign for the person you are reading for to look for those traits within herself.

The High Priestess is a reminder for us to trust our intuition and not fall prey to the world around us.   She can be a sign to pay attention to our dreams and intuition.  When you see her look for areas in your life that are out of balance.  You must use your intuition to identify those areas and look for solutions to balance them.  Make time to meditate and listen to your inner voice.

Much of how I read the tarot is intuitive.  I have learned to get to know the characters in the cards and the symbols and numbers upon them.  While having a basic working knowledge of this helps, a lot has to do with the position of the card in regards to the question asked.  So I write this as a basic guide to assist you in getting to know the High Priestess.   If you are learning to read the tarot I would also encourage you to read the pictures on the cards.  A lot of us choose decks because they have significant meaning to us.  While getting familiar with the meanings of the cards is wonderful, you will get to know your own deck and what pictures mean when they come up.  I will do an article on this later on.

Much Love and Many Blessings,
