One of my passions is working with Tarot cards as I believe almost all of you know. I love the wide variety of decks available and the different energy that each deck brings. I do believe this is the first time that a deck by Disney has come out and I must admit I hit that pre-order button immediately. It’s the Nightmare Before Christmas Tarot! How fun will this be to work with?
The deck is based on the movie and all the citizens of Halloween Town in Tim Burton’s movie. They didn’t put out a lot of details yet but I do have some screen shots from the guidebook on Amazon that I can share with you.
For fans of Zero I’m quite sure this card will make you smile like I did.
I always like to make sure that the minor arcana is just as detailed as the major arcana so that the cards are easy to work with. It looks like they have used the suits Needles, potions, candles and presents in place of the traditional swords, wands, pentacles and cups. Presents seem to correspond to pentacles. Needles seem to correspond to swords. From there I would guess that potions are cups and candles are wands. I’m excited to see if I’m correct.
All in all it looks like a really fun deck to work with and it seems like it would be a great addition to any tarot collection, especially if you love Disney. I know I’m looking forward to receiving my copy. For those of you that don’t work with tarot I’m anticipating releasing a reading for you featuring this deck this year.
