The Star of Yule

How many of you have heard everyone talking about the Great Saturn and Jupiter Conjunction? Maybe you’ve heard it called the Christmas Star?  Tomorrow night is the night!

Saturn and Jupiter are going to be hanging around together tomorrow night in our night sky.  They are going to be orbiting together and are going to appear incredibly close together. So close in fact, that they are only going to be 1/10th of a degree apart.  It’s not uncommon for them to orbit close together.  They appear closer in the sky every 20 years or so.  However, the last time they were this close was in the year 1226. Nasa is saying 400 years ago or so.  This amazing conjunction falls on Yule and on our Winter Solstice.  I think it’s absolutely amazing.

In most places the best time to see them on the Solstice will be right after sunset so make sure that you get out there to see this once in a lifetime event.

It’s been called the Christmas star as it’s happening on the same week as Christmas.  However it is happening on Yule and the Solstice so I’m referring to it as the Yule Star. Honestly I don’t care what name it’s called. I just like to see people excited about astrology. <3 The reason it’s being referred to as a star at all is because it is going to look like a giant star in the sky as they will be so close.

Want to learn more? NASA put together an amazing video explaining more about it and how to see it. You can find it here: NASA Science – The Great Saturn and Jupiter Conjunction.

I hope that you have an amazingly magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

  1. We live on the Gulf of Mexico and had the opportunity to be there for the sunset on the 21st. The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn was so beautiful and so clear in the cold night sky…just amazing! What a Yule gift to us from the goddess!
