We always talk about the winds of change that come in March but what about those winds that come in October? We went to have lunch in the cemetery just a few days ago because it was gorgeous that day and the cemetery near my house has the most amazing trees and fall foliage.
This is one of my favorite old trees there. It has the most wonderful places to sit against it’s trunk.
Here’s another picture. The colors are so incredibly vivid! We went back out for a walk today and would you believe the wind has blown the top half of the trees is now bare? There are still some leaves but I’m so glad we took lunch there the other day. Did you know that people used to have parties in cemeteries because they were so beautiful? I will have to tell you more about that a different day!
It occurred to me today that we often emphasize the March winds of change and they do come pretty strong but October has some pretty intense winds of change that come faithfully every year as well. We had a storm just the other day that was so much fun to watch and over the past couple of weeks we have had some windy days. We still have a lot of leaves on our trees as you can see in the pictures. By Halloween they will all be on the ground here. One of my favorite memories at Halloween when I was young was stomping through all those leaves in my costume as I went to collect my treats at all the different houses. The trees are much more spooky without leaves.
As you navigate the Season of the Witch you will often find that you are working to remove things from your life that are no longer working for you as you move towards Samhain. As you remove those things the energy goes with them making room for new things to come your way. Often those new things will be better suited to where you are and what you want in your life. This gets you ready for your Witch’s New Year just after Samhain! 🙂
As you go through this week look at how the winds of change are impacting your life right now. :)) Remember when you have energy of change around you it’s a great time to make changes that you want to see in your life as well.
