Using Magick To Mend a Broken Heart

One of the requests that I get a lot is if I know a way to heal a broken heart.  It’s probably one of the heart wrenching requests I get as I’ve been there and I wish I could just wave a magick wand and have everyone happy and comfy again.

One of the biggest things I’ve found goes along with today’s quote on Moonsong Daily Magick by Stephen Covey,

“Live out of your imagination not out of your memory.”

 When we look at past relationships, a lot of times our minds tend to “romanticize” the memories. Most people will tend to remember extreme times, so unless you had a really horrible relationship (I hope not!), when you remember the relationship you are most likely to remember all the “good times” While it’s nice to have these sorts of memories if you are trying to get on with your life, that’s the last thing you want to be doing.  So let’s take a look at how we can make things better.

Step 1 –  Box up the memories. Each time you think of something from the relationship, make a mental box in your mind. Envision yourself tucking the memory in the box and then putting the lid on it. This way you won’t lose the memories, but it’s a reminder to self that they aren’t serving your greater good right now.Step 2 – Use Your Imagination. Now that you’ve boxed up that memory, immediately replace it with one of a romantic partner you desire. What characteristics do you want them to have? How will you relate to each other? What types of things will you do? How will you feel? Get as detailed as you can. This is living in your imagination. Part of why this is so powerful is that it sets our desires into motion. It will set that energy moving to let the universe know what you want and attract that partner to you. The Law of Attraction is some pretty powerful stuff. Almost all of you that are members of Daily Magick are highly intuitives so you will find you are really good at working with energy.

Those two steps are really powerful when you use them regularly. You can also use your imagination to help distract yourself while you heal as well. Get a book in the fantasy genre and spend some time curled up with hot coco on the couch reading. Rent Lord of the Rings or another fantasy type movie or series, Once Upon a Time is good too. Allow yourself to delve into the world of magick, practice your craft, go out and bond with the energies of the Earth. You can do this.

I have one more piece that will help you with the first two steps. You can work with Rose Quartz. Charge a piece of rose quartz with loving energy. It’s best to do it under the full moon if you can. Feel it pulsate in your hands as you envision what it would feel like to truly be in love. Then keep that crystal on you in your pocket. Each time your mind drifts back to the past, touch the crystal and say “I am open to love” and walk yourself forward.

A lot of times you will have pain from past relationships and I’m not saying that isn’t something you need to work with. Definitely work with it, but do it on your terms. Allow yourself a certain amount of time and then make yourself get up and move forward. Choose to do things in chunks, so for example you may choose to move everything that’s theirs into a physical box. After you do so you may wish to allow yourself some time, but then make sure you reward yourself with a break for your mind.

Be patient with yourself, be kind, and know that better things are always coming your way. If it was truly meant to be, it will be. If not, then that person you are meant to be with is not in your life yet. Trust me, they are worth the wait 😉
