Here we are in May! What a long strange year 2020 has been shaping up to be! Beltane brings us some fiery and passionate energy as we return to the Sun. Things are finally warming up here and I have a yard full of beautiful yellow dandelions that are making an amazing addition to my daily water and tea.
As many of you know the veil thins twice a year, at Samhain and at Beltane and I have to say the energy this year feels very focused on that thinning veil, connection with self, connection with spirit and connection with our ancestors. I found myself down a rabbit hole looking for an ancestor the other night. It’s funny how it happened. I was in the middle of a reading and I paused as I got personal information for myself. It was a breadcrumb for an ancestor that I’ve been trying to find the right name for. It’s a long story! He would have been a Grandfather to me and I’ve been searching for him off and on for the last ten years. I got a significant puzzle piece a few months back but I wasn’t able to quite put it all together. Long story short I saw things different yesterday when I revisited it, I actually found him. He passed away ten years ago but I at least know his name and a bit about his life. It also helped to validate a whole side of a family tree that I thought I had right but wasn’t sure on. It’s really incredible. It was something that was important to me.
I’ve been getting a lot of ancestors coming through. The other day I had the most wonderful visit from a Grandmother for a regular client. Her energy was just so amazing and I think she did a wonderful job making her presence known and helping me to provide that validation. The veil is thin now and this portal is open to our ancestors and I feel like it’s more important now than ever to connect with their energy. There are things that we can learn from them and energy that will help us as we navigate our lives. If you have never used Ancestry I can’t recommend it enough. It’s so much fun. I will get a one month membership once in awhile to play with. I also had the DNA test done which is what helped me to figure out who my Mother’s Father was.
Look for those bonds. Research your ancestors. Celebrate where you come from. Look into the countries where your line originates and perhaps try out some of their recipes or traditions and see what you gravitate towards. We are in a strong time of learning and personal growth and you may find that there is some wonderful information and energy out there just waiting for you to tap into it.

May 23 – Comet Atlas. It’s possible that this will be the second brightest object in the sky on this night.
