How many of you have seen the pretty Selenite towers like the one above? Selenite is translucent allowing light to pass through it making it popular to find in various shapes on top of light discs that often have different colors.
It’s a soft stone and you will find that you often will find carved or etched. This is a beautiful example that I found from a shop on Etsy at the Krystal and Wood Shop. If you get the chance to check out their shop I’m sure many of you will love it. So many beautiful items for your spiritual practice. You will often find Selenite carved into wands, candle holders, palm stones, altar tiles and so many other beautiful items. Once you know what it is, you will start seeing it everywhere. 🙂
Similar to quartz you can use Selenite to amplify energy that you are working with. So for example if you are working with Amethyst, you can use a bit of Selenite next to it to amplify it’s energy. It’s a beautiful addition to crystal grids or bracelets that you may be creating. It’s also an incredibly powerful healing stone. If you are looking to do some energy cleansing Selenite is great to work with. For those of you who get readings with me, you may have noticed that I always have Selenite Wands on my tarot table. They help to keep my table cleansed and amplify the energy of the other stones that I have on it.
This is a picture of a reading that I did recently and you can see that I have it tucked on all four sides of the cards. The top one is a bit hard to see. I also used quartz pointz with this reading and rose quartz. The birch log is also something I always keep on there. I love the energy of birch. That’s an article for a different day. I also have a tower in my bedroom like you see above. I know one of you got lucky and got a huge Selenite tower from me that I found at a gem show years ago.
Selenite helps with clear thought. If you need to dig deeper into what you are thinking and feeling, this is a great stone to work with. You will find beautiful palm stones that are smooth and just fit in your hand. You don’t have to use one that’s carved, you can use any one you choose, I just happen to love how smooth and cool the carved ones feel when I’m working with energy that I want to work with through my hands. If you are looking to increase your intuition you will find Selenite to be a big help as well.
Selenite corresponds to your Third Eye and Crown chakras so if you are working with the energy of your chakras or doing healing work, this is where you will find Selenite to be the biggest help. It also corresponds to the Moon. Cleanse and charge your Selenite with the light of the Full Moon to keep it clear to work with. You can also cleanse it and charge it with the New Moon.
It’s really a versatile stone to work with and you will find that it’s even good at aiding with protection. It’s a great stone to have tucked around your home and one that you will find in various places throughout my home for that reason.
