Dreams of Jupiter

This weekend was unbelievably clear here in New England, even though they predicted a complete washout.  I don’t think we had one day of rain.

The fireflies are absolutely amazing here right now, and Saturday night we decided to go out into the backyard and sit surrounded by them.  Earl was looking at something in the night sky, and then he ran off.  He came back a few minutes later with the telescope.  We managed to get this beautiful telescope several years ago at a tag sale for around $20.00. It comes out several times during the Summer, and I can’t tell you how much fun we have with it.  I’ve seen so many amazing things since we got it.

One of the best parts of it is balancing in all sorts of positions to try to get pictures of what we are looking at! One of these days, I need to see if I can get a camera for it! It occurred to me last night that I should look that up!

What you are looking at in the picture above is Jupiter and three out of four of her Moons.  I wanted to share it with all of you as I knew you would appreciate it.   I was able to see Jupiter and all four of her Moons last night. It was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had with the telescope.  The view I had was easier to see than this one.  Every time I see something through the telescope it blows me away.

I stood there under the stars with my bare feet sinking into the wet earth under the stars looking through that telescope and I was just so happy.  It’s an incredibly connected feeling.

I hope you all have an amazing day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong
