A few years ago now someone put a bunch of plants out for free on the side of the road. They were all really small and in pretty rough shape. We took a couple of them that day but one really sticks out in my mind, the Angel Wing Begonia.
The Angel Wing Begonia has leaves that look like Begonia Wings. There are several varieties of the Angel Wing and they are pretty easy to care for indoors making them great house plants.
The variety that we have can get to be up to five feet tall. We gave her a home on top of a rack in my bathroom when we got her many years ago and she’s been steadily getting bigger and traveling across the room. She is supported in several places along the wall that you can’t see. This year she is especially happy because she made it all the way to our LED lights.
When they are happy they will make flowers. Ours is making these beautiful pink flowers. Every once in awhile petals will fall onto our sink. It’s just so pretty. She definitely loves the light and humidity that the bathroom provides. It’s hard to tell in the photos but the dots on the leaves are almost silver and the leaves themselves have a bit of a pink tint to them.
Begonias are beautiful and unique and they bring you that energy. For such a beautiful flower they aren’t known for being positive everywhere. In many cultures they can represent a warning or let you know that you need to be cautious. It is also said that they can help to bring justice to a situation.
They also are known in many places for their positive energy. They are known to bring peace and tranquility. They can help with healing and communication. They come in a wide variety and have flowers that are all different colors. The colors can help indicate the energy that the plant will bring you. For instance Red and pink can represent romance and love. Yellow will bring you positive energy. White can bring peace and enhanced connection with spirit. When you choose your begonia you may want to consider the variety and the color of the flowers that it will have.
