Nature Scavenger Hunt

Today I have an activity that you can do by yourself, with the family, with the kids, with the fur babies, pretty much anyone. It’s not an original idea, but it’s a fun one that I do with my kids almost all the time, a Nature Scavenger Hunt.

One of the easiest ways I know to do this is by the alphabet. We will go out on a walk and start with the letter A, working through each letter, finding something for each until we reach the end of the alphabet. We always bring bags so we can collect things that are safe and collectible but won’t disturb mother nature. I do this with the little ones as it helps to keep them engaged in the activity and helps to teach them what is ok to pick up in nature and what is not. If it’s just me I’ll either have a list on my phone or go with a mental list.

Another way to do it is to go out and collect in groups. So for example, take a camera or iphone and take a picture of as many different types of leaves you can find, birds, trees, flowers, etc.

The more traditional way to do it is to make a list ahead of time and then go out and find everything on your list.

Any one of these is absolutely fantastic and a lot of fun. Did you know that this type of game will also help you develop your intuition? It does so by helping you to engage all of your senses and increase your powers of observation. When you practice actively searching your surroundings you are literally training your brain to notice everything and become more aware which will help to develop your psychic gifts.

Have a Great Time!!

Much Love and Many Blessings,
