Many moons ago I started working on a formal path for my craft and I spent countless hours tucked in one of those amazingly comfy old chairs that Barnes and Noble has, reading everything I could get my hands on and taking notes in whatever notebook that I brought with me. On one of those days, I ran out of room in my notebook and decided to get a “fancy” one from their selection.
I chose one with this cover on it as it just really spoke to me at the time. This was my first introduction to the artwork of Josephine Wall and I’ve been following her for many many years now.
From childhood she had a deep love of art. It was only natural that she progressed to become a professional artist expressing all of the beautiful ideas that were in her mind in different mediums like sculptures and painting for us to enjoy. She started work as a professional artist in the 60’s and has been active ever since. If you do a search for her name you will find so many examples of her beautiful work on journals, puzzles, and even tarot card decks. Yes, some of you may recognize her work from the cards I have pulled for you on the Daily Oracle.
While I wish I had all of her tarot decks and I am slowly working on adding them to my collection, those that I do have are absolutely gorgeous. There is always so much going on in her art, it makes it a dream for a tarot reader to work with any cards that she has done the artwork for. Most of her decks are collaborations where she is responsible for the artwork. They are all definitely worth a look as they are gorgeous. The ones I have I absolutely love working with. The Mystical Wisdom Tarot is one example. She also has done the Whispers of Healing Oracle, Nature’s Whispers Oracle, and the Gratitude Oracle among others.
