One of my favorite flowers is the Sunflower. They really caught my attention a few years ago. They are just so bright and positive I had told Earl that I wanted to plant them the following year. That year I had a beautiful volunteer show up at the top of my garden.
The following Summer we grew the biggest ones we could find along with several other varieties. It was so much fun to see just how large we could get them to grow and to watch all the different colors that the other varieties brought us.
This year we didn’t have any luck growing them but Earl bought me these today as a special treat as he knows how much I love them. Loki loves them as well.
Sun flowers bring us the energy of the Sun and the energy of the harvest. They remain with us most of the Summer and will often stay with us through to the Summer Solstice though so will start leaving a bit earlier. I love that their heads follow the sun throughout the day. If you every have the opportunity to pay attention to them throughout the day I think that’s pretty amazing.
Sunflowers are known to bring you happiness and to really lift your energy up. If you ever have the opportunity to go to a field of sunflowers you will find your cheeks hurting as you smile so large wandering through all their beautiful energy. It’s an amazing experience and I know it’s one that is catching on in my area. You may find it is in yours as well.
