There is a place in my town that I love to go. Not a lot of people know about it and I honestly prefer it that way. It’s only about 10 minutes from my house and I’ve been going there for over twenty years now since I first found it in my early twenties.
Isn’t it beautiful? You have to walk a short path through the woods to find it. When you come upon the clearing and you can see the reservoir in the background it just takes your breath away. This was a reservoir for public water in the 1890’s. The towns stopped using it quite some time ago. Several years ago they repaired a dam that was at the end of this road so I’m not sure if they will begin using it again in the future. I have spent a lot of happy hours looking for salamanders and butterflies on the shores of the river.
This is my favorite spot and some place I have walked to so many times. It’s an old Maple tree. It’s a bit hard to see in this picture but the trunk is incredibly thick. It fills out almost the entire area where the foliage is at the base of it. It’s not doing as well this year as you can tell in the picture. I’m hoping that it survives. It has the most incredible energy and I’ve spend so much time with this tree. 🙂 It has incredibly balancing and healing energy. Did you know that the Maple tree is sacred to Virgo? I’m a Virgo and just learned that recently.
For those of you who have been with me for awhile I may have shared this place with you long ago as I’ve been writing daily magick for well over ten years now. It’s just one of the most magickal places that I know. It’s so calming.
